1 Names for rock bands on Thu May 14, 2009 5:33 pm

I was on TVTropes and The Kingdom Of Loathing at the same time when I started thinking about what would make a good name for a rock band, and these are the ones I found/came up with:
Ambidextrous Funkslingers
The Banshee Librarians
Cursed Ink
War Hippy Fatigues
Heavy Motion
Steel Wind
California Heat

Any others?

my cousin and I were gonna start a band and call it parking for bagpipes. We stole it from a sign we saw at a Scottish store.

A friend and I came up with that one years ago, when we needed a team name. We decided it would be a fantastic band name when Rock Band came out. Furthermore, I have decided that their hit single will be "Smooth Cosmos".

I still agree with a Dave Barry column I read once: "Flaming Booty Moths" would be a great name for a rock band. xD And so would "Nostril Nuns".

One of my favorite bands is called "Stolen Babies." Best name ever if you ask me. You know those things people hang in those windows that say "Baby on Board?" I have a bumper sticker that says "Stolen Babies on Board."

Oh, and here's what I came up with:

American Grapefruit
Glovebox Artillery
Semierotic
Something in my Trunk is Screaming (maybe that's more of a song title)

Back in high school, I and a few of my buddies were going to start a band. Something so epic deserves italics and, of course, a kickass band name. I sat down one day trying to come up with some possibilities, and almost immediately I crafted Nature's Mishap.

I also wrote down a few other piddling excuses for band names for the others to choose from, but they loved Nature's Mishap right off the bat and the rest weren't even a consideration. Though we never did end up actually starting a band, we've used the NM name for various other ventures over the intervening years.

More recently, I took part in a little forum game that involved making random album covers. I don't remember the exact rules, but it involved using random selectors on Wikipedia, a quote database, and an image repository. I ended up with:

Which I thought was pretty cool.
